Data show crime on the rise in Cape May County

Violent and nonviolent crime decreased in New Jersey in 2007 over the previous year, according to the annual Uniform Crime Report released by State Police. Cape May County was the only county in the region to show increased in both violent crime – up 5 percent – and nonviolent crime – a 3 percent hike. [...]

Playwright’s daughter visits East Lynne Theater

Kaufman’s daughter, Anne, paid East Lynne Theater a visit to see her father’s production of To The Ladies which had its Broadway debut in 1922 starring Helen Hayes. Lower Township – Early Monday morning at approximately 12:02 a.m. local fire departments responded to a six alarm fire at the former Ponderlodge Golf Course, now the Villas Wildlife Management Area. Cape May, September 25 – Cape May’s Bank Street WaWa closed its doors at 1 minute after midnight. The For Sale sign was up and the windows boarded before noon.

In order to soften the blow of its WaWa September 24 closing, employees gave out free coffee to their customers. The WaWa on Texas Avenue will remain open, but rumor has it a Super WaWa is planned for the corner of Lafayette and Texas avenues, across from the C-View Tavern and Riggins gas station.
