  3. Data show crime on the rise in Cape May County

    Violent and nonviolent crime decreased in New Jersey in 2007 over the previous year, according to the annual Uniform Crime Report released by State Police. Kaufman’s daughter, Anne, paid East Lynne Theater a visit to see her father’s production of To The Ladies which had its  Broadway debut in 1922 starring Helen Hayes.     In order to soften the blow of its WaWa September 24 closing, employees gave out free coffee to their customers. The WaWa on Texas Avenue will remain open, but rumor has it a Super WaWa is planned for the corner of Lafayette and Texas avenues, across from the C-View Tavern and Riggins gas station.

    Cape May, September 14, 2008 – The Cape May Jazz Festival held a brunch/fundraiser Sunday compliments of Joe Carney at Carney’s on Beach Avenue. All proceeds went to the Jazz Festival. Music and entertainment was generously provided by Ken McBride, Geno White, and Mike Hawa. And a good time was had by all.

    CAPE MAY - Former city manager Lou Corea has filed a lawsuit in New Jersey Superior Court against the city seeking full payment of his contract as well as damages and attorney fees. Corea is seeking a jury trial and about $200,000 in remaining pay and sick time. His contract was scheduled to run through 2010. [...]
