The Chalfonte Hotel opened its doors to locals and dignataries Thursday, June 4 in celebration of the start of the 2009 summer season. Sawyer’s Chalfonte, built by Civil War hero, Henry Sawyer in 1875, is under the new ownership of Bob Mullock. Although Mullock took over last July, the hotel has undergone extensive renovations over the winter months and is opening for the first time with the Mullocks at the helm.
Guests were treated to the hotel’s famous Southern Fried Chicken and hospitality. Dignitaries included members of City Council and State Senator Jeff Van Drew and former owner Anne LeDuc.
