Cape May Veterans Memorial Bridge Finally Gets a Name

Nov. 7, Lower Township – Veterans, dignitaries and members of the U.S. Coast Guard assembled under the Lower Township Bridge to rededicate the bridge. Forty nine years ago on November 5, 1960 this bridge in Lower Township over the Cape May Canal at the end of the Garden State Parkway was dedicated without a name. [...]

The Lighthouse Celebrates 150th Anniversary

On March 3, 1857, Congress appropriated $40,000 “For rebuilding and fitting with firstorder apparatus the lighthouse at Cape May entrance to Delaware Bay.” That appropriate fired the final broadside into the 10-year-old lighthouse.
