The 2009 Car Winner is Steve Russo of Kittanning, PA (40 miles north of Pittsburgh). Congrats to Steve and hats off to the many volunteers who manned the booth this past summer. October 10 – West Cape May celebrates her farming heritage every October with the Annual Lima Bean Festival in Wilbraham Park! The lowly legume took center stage once again with the culmination of the crowning of the king and queen of the Lima Bean Festival.

1st Annual King Neptune Bachelor Auction

The goal was $10,000. The result over $19,000. The cause? The 1st Annual King Neptune Bachelor Auction, sponsored by the Mermaid Guild, held Sept. 20 at the Rusty Nail at the Beach Shack. Proceeds were donated to the Food Bank – for every $1 raised the Food Bank actually receives $10 worth of food. So [...]

Oktoberfest 2009

Jackson Street’s annual Oktoberfest saw a break in the rain Saturday, hosting a huge crowd that feasted on bratwurst, lobster rolls, beer, and shopped at the multitude of vendors lining both sides of the street.

Kiwanis Car Winner

The winner of this year’s drawing for the Mustang Convertible is Corey Samek
of Gettysburg, PA.
Mr. Samek was the holder of the winning ticket, only 500 of which were sold.
The Kiwanis Club of Cape May announced that the car raffle this year brought
in around $20,000 for scholarship awards. Each year the raffle runs from
mid-April thru mid-September. -
13th Annual Food and Wine Festival’s Chef’s Cook Off Contest

Sept. 20 – Rafael Rodriguez of the Washington Inn won Sunday’s Chef Cook Off Contest. Peter Brown of Aleathea’s came in second by a nose and Justin Mark of Tisha’s was the third place winner.

Mutt Strutt

Sept. 19 – Dog owners strutted their mutts along the Promenade Saturday for the benefit of the third annual Mutt Strutt sponsored by the Cape May County Dog Obedience Training Club (CMCDOTC).
