Lynn Arden’s Children Shoppe closes after 35 years

It’s a blustery day in March and the windows at Lynn Arden’s Children Shoppe are covered in fluorescent pink and green paper you can see a block away. Signs in the first and second-story windows advertise “Huge Sale” and “Fantastic Prizes.” A lone stroller waits below the bay window, and above the door, in the same shocking pink, a large banner announces “Store closing.”

Lynn Arden’s, a staple of the Washington Street Mall’s 300 block, is shutting its doors after 35 years in business. The closure is permanent, according to owner Lynn Kramer in a letter to local residents. The store is holding an invitation-only liquidation sale through March 21st. Please keep an eye on their Facebook page for information and dates about the upcoming public sale.

At this time, we don’t have information on what will be taking Lynn Arden’s place, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do. Lynn Arden’s is the fourth longtime business closing we’ve reported in 2018. Three other longtime Cape May businesses closed their doors earlier this year.
