Getting Around

The best way to see Cape May is to walk through town. Cape May is a small island with so much to see that walking is the best way to explore. But if you want to use another mode of transportation, here are the most common:

Park and Ride Service

The Great American Trolley Company offers free Park & Ride service to the Washington Street Mall, beach, and promenade, and one-way trolley rides in Cape May.

Hours: 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m. daily during the summer season (July through September)

Cost: Park & Ride is free (you must park at the elementary school on Lafayette andreceive a return pass from the driver). One-way trolley fare for non Park & Ride passengers is $1.00 per person, each way. Drivers are unable to make change. Passes are also available from participating hotels, so please check with yours.

Stops: The driver stops at any corner on the route. Just flag the trolley. To check where the driver is on his route, please call 609-846-4057.

Bicycle Rentals

Bicycles and surreys are available for rental.

There are several taxi companies in Cape May, but you will need to call to arrange for pickup. We would recommend asking your accommodation for a taxi company that serves their location.
