Classic American Tales: Tales From the 20’s in Black and White

Presented by Stephanie Garrett and Gayle Stahlhuth, Garrett focuses on stories about the Harlem Renaissance, Langston Hughes (1901-1967) and Zora Neale Hurston (1891-1960) and Stahlhuth discusses the Algonquin Round Table, the founding of The New Yorker 100 years ago, Alexander Woollcott (1887-1943) and Dorothy Parker (1893-1967).

Stephanie Garrett and Gayle Stahlhuth have been part of Cape May’s storytelling and theater scene for over 25 years. Both have been performing on various porches in Cape May and continue to do so this summer and fall at the historic Dormer House. Garrett performed onstage in Cape May in “Rain” and “Lost on the Natchez Trace,” directed by Stahlhuth. Stahlhuth, CAT’s founder, was the producing artistic director for East Lynne Theater Company for 23 years.  CAT’s mission is to tell America’s stories one tale at a time.
