New boutique store, coffee shop opening this year

There’s been a lot of activity around town lately, and we have three more updates to share with you.

The old bath house on Lafayette Street, between Elaine’s and Long & Foster Real Estate, has been home to several boutique shops over the years. Last Friday, we spotted it undergoing a fresh white paint job. The upcoming store will be called Elaine’s Boutique. No word on what the merchandise will be like yet.

We have an update on last week’s post about business closings. This year, 2018, looks to be the year of the coffee shop! Celebrate Cape May will be replaced by Out There Coffee, owned by Craig Stonis and his wife  – longtime vacationers who gave us a call earlier this week to give us the information on their new venture. Their plan is to offer coffee roasted in-house, espresso, and waffles. They hope to open in March.

And finally, there has been a rumor that the Jetty Motel would undergo remodeling for the 2018 season, but we confirmed there will not be changes to the motel in advance of this season.
