What to do Easter weekend in Cape May

So far, 2018 has proven to be a cold, stormy year, but we’re getting a reprieve this weekend in time for Easter Sunday. Cape May is predicted to have partly cloudy weather with a high of 49. If you’ll be visiting the area, please don’t forget a jacket, and enjoy this roundup of events for this coming holiday weekend.

Wondering where you can visit with the Easter Bunny while you’re here? Wonder no longer. The Easter Bunny will be at the Original Fudge Kitchen on March 30, 31, and April 1st from noon to 4pm. Take photos–or selfies!–with the Easter Bunny at the Washington Street Mall location, 513 Washington (and look up while you’re there – that’s our office!).

The Annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Cape May Elementary School on Saturday, March 31st at 10am. Children aged toddlers through 12 years will be awarded prizes for finding the Golden Egg. The Easter Bunny will be on site! Please call 609-884-8888 for more information.

Hawk Haven is hosting their first annual Easter Egg Roll on Saturday, March 31st. In an egg roll race, an egg is pushed through the grass with a long-handled spoon, a tradition that dates back to the early 1800s in England. Compete for prizes in adult, family, and kid-only categories. Wine tastings and wine flights will be available, as well as food from the Mermaid Mutineer from 12-4pm and live music on the crushpad. Rain date is Saturday, April 7th. The Egg Roll event is free to attend, but registration is required. Email info@hawkhavenvineyard.com to register.

This year, the annual Easter Fashion Stroll will take place on Sunday, April 1st at Rotary Park, 400 Lafayette Street. Registration begins at noon and the stroll starts at 1pm. Prizes will be awarded for the following categories: 3 and younger, 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13 and older, best-dressed lady, best-dressed man, best-dressed couple, best-dressed family, and Best Easter Bonnet (youth and adult). Treats, gift certificates and ribbons will be awarded to winning participants. And after the stroll, head over to the Washington Street Mall for special giveaways from participating merchants. Where you can enjoy Easter Brunch & Dinner

Have lunch or dinner with the Easter Bunny at Dry Dock Restaurant and Ice Cream Bar on Friday and Saturday. The Easter Bunny will make appearances Friday from 11am-1pm and Saturday from 11am-1pm and 5-7pm. Closed Easter Sunday. For more information, call 609-884-3434.

Have breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Cape May Ferry Terminal on Saturday, March 31st. Enjoy a breakfast buffet, meet-and-greet with the Bunny itself, and an egg hunt on the green. $24 for adults (13 and up), $14 children (3-12), children 2 and under are free. Two seatings are available for breakfast, at 9:30am and 10:30am. Seating is limited. Please call 800-643-3779 for reservations.

The Harbor View is holding their annual breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 31st from 9am to 11:30am. Plenty of specials for the kids. They recommend bringing your camera for free pictures. Reservations are recommended but not required. Please call 609-884-5444.

Peter Shields Inn is hosting Easter Brunch on April 1st from 11am to 3pm. The three-course menu includes entrees such as eggs benedict, lamb loin, and steak and eggs. $40 adults, $25 children. Please call 609-884-9090 for reservations.

Aleathea’s at the Inn of Cape May is taking reservations for Easter Brunch and Dinner on Sunday, April 1st. Please call 800-55-5933.

SeaSalt’s Easter Brunch is on Sunday, April 1st from 11am to 2pm. They are hosting a 3-course prix fixe with a specialty brunch cocktail and visit with the Easter Bunny. $35 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Children’s menu available. Reservations are suggested. Please call 609-884-7000.

Congress Hall invites you to Easter Brunch in their Grand Ballroom on Sunday from 9am to 2pm. They’ll have standard breakfast buffet items such as French toast and Belgian waffles, and there will also be chef-attended carving stations offering maple-glazed ham and prime rib. Salads, made-to-order omelets, pastries, hot entrees, and desserts will also be available. $42 adult, $16 children (4-12). For reservations, please call 609-884-6542.

Enjoy a farm-fresh Easter brunch on Sunday, April 1st at Beach Plum Farm. Chef Todd Phillips will build the menu from ingredients grown on site, which will be served in a heated tent in the picnic grove. Easter flowers will also be for sale, and storytime for kids is scheduled for 12:30pm and 1:30pm. They will also offer hayrides around the farm. Beach Plum Farm will also offer an early spring farm-to-table dinner at 6:30pm on Saturday, March 31. Since they grow their ingredients on site, this family-style dinner will be based on whatever is fresh at Beach Plum Farm that week. All of the dinners are BYOB; farm-fresh juices and herbs will be provided as mixers to make craft cocktails. Willow Creek Winery is hosting their second annual Easter Sunday Vineyard Brunch on Sunday, April 1st from 10am-1pm. Enjoy traditional breakfast classics such as omelets and baked quiche. Guests 21 and older are treated to an unlimited build-your-own sangria mimosa bar. Master Chef Brian Parker of the Southern Mansion and his sous-chefs will prepare everything fresh on site.  $40 per person 21 and older; $20 per person under 21; children under 3 are free. The Grand Hotel is offering two options on Sunday, April 1st. From 8am to 11am, enjoy an Easter breakfast buffet serving up classic breakfast items like scrambled eggs, creamed chipped beef with biscuits, eggs benedict, stuffed French toast, and an omelet station, plus yogurt, pastries, fresh fruit, and smoked salmon. $19.95 per adult, children 12 and under $11.95 each.

The Grand’s Easter Brunch Buffet from 11:30am to 3pm will feature stuffed chicken, roasted leg of lamb, jumbo lump crab cakes, shrimp and scallop scampi, and salmon, plus a prime rib carving station, vegetable sides, and assorted desserts. $34.95 per adult, $14.95 per child 12 and under.
